"SOR": new Polish medical drama from Prime Video and TVP launches on 20 October

"SOR", a new Polish medical drama, premiered on 20 October 2026. It is a joint production by Prime Video and Telewizja Polska (TVP). The 12-episode series is shown on TVP 2, TVP VOD and Prime Video.

What it is about

The story is set in a hospital emergency department run by consultant Andrzej Drawski (Ireneusz Czop). A young doctor, Piotr Hajduk (Sebastian Dela), joins the team. He is due to start work the next day but is pulled into the action. It soon emerges that he shares a past with Dr Katarzyna Zawadzka (Sonia Mietielica).

According to the announcements, the series combines medical drama with personal storylines from the doctors' private lives. The trailer promises realism and a fast pace.

Who is behind it

The directors are Sylwia Rosak and Sara Bustamante-Drozdek. The latter previously worked on the series "Na dobre i na złe" and "Na sygnale". The scripts were written by Maciej Sobczyk and Zbigniew Zborowski. Episodes run for no more than 40 minutes.

First reviews

Since it was announced, the series has been compared with the American "The Pitt". A reviewer for Spider's Web, who has seen about a quarter of the season, concluded that "SOR" does not match the American original. However, he rated the first episodes as solid television: well written, without longueurs, and with medical storylines outweighing melodrama. He criticised the lack of a clear message.

A Gazeta.pl reviewer, whose feed description this article draws on, wrote that the series hooked her from the first scene. She says it is set in the same universe as "Na dobre i na złe" and "Na sygnale". We could not retrieve the full review, so we rely only on the feed description.
