Budget 2026: what changes for UK drivers – fuel duty, electric cars, pay-per-mile charge
The Budget presented on 28 October 2026 extends the fuel duty freeze to 1 July 2027. A pay-per-mile charge for electric and plug-in hybrid cars was also confirmed from April 2028.
