Wisła Płock and Industria Kielce reach main round of handball Champions League

The group stage of Groups B and F of the men's handball Champions League ended on Wednesday 28 October 2026. Two Polish teams advanced to the main round: Orlen Wisła Płock and Industria Kielce.

Wisła Płock top Group B

The Płock side collected eight points in six matches. They won four games and lost two, which put them first in the table. The team is coached by Xavi Sabaté.

The final order was decided by a 33:27 win over HBC Nantes. In the 22nd minute Wisła were trailing 9:11, but they recovered and controlled the game after the break. Goalkeeper Miljan Vujović made 16 saves, and Frederik Bjerre scored seven goals.

MT Melsungen finished second in the group, one point behind Wisła. In the final round the Germans drew 26:26 with Vardar Skopje, with Florian Drosten equalising seven seconds from the end. Nantes finished with six points and Vardar with three. Both teams will now play in the European League.

Industria Kielce second in Group F

The Kielce side also collected eight points, with four wins and two defeats. In Group F, however, that was enough only for second place. In the last round the team coached by Krzysztof Lijewski beat Kolstad Handball 40:35. The home side's top scorer was Kirył Rabczyński with eight goals.

SC Magdeburg won the group, taking all six matches and the maximum 12 points. They finished by beating HC Kriens-Luzern 36:29. The Swiss side came third with four points, and Kolstad ended the group stage without a point.

Different starting points

The Polish clubs enter the main round in different positions. Wisła will play in Group I and start with two points won against MT Melsungen. Industria will play in Group II with no points, because they lost both games against Magdeburg.

The next stage of the Champions League begins on 18 November 2026.
