mObywatel app: version 4.93.1 must be installed by 16 November 2026

Users of the mObywatel app should check which version is installed on their phone. According to the mObywatel website, the app is undergoing a certificate renewal, so version 4.93.1 is required by 16 November 2026.

What happens without the update

After that date, older versions may stop working properly. Users will then see a message saying an update is required after logging in. The developers stress that the change matters for the app's security and correct operation.

The update applies both to the standard mObywatel and to mObywatel Junior installed on a child's phone.

How to check your version

1. Open the app and select "Więcej" (More).
2. Go to the "O aplikacji" (About the app) section.
3. Check the version number – the required one is 4.93.1.

If automatic updates are switched on, the new version will most likely install itself. It is still worth checking the number manually. If the app store shows an "Open" button instead of "Update", the store may not yet offer the new version on that device. In that case, it is best to check the number directly in the app.

What this means for you

mObywatel is also used by Polish people living in the UK, for example as a digital document on their phone. It is therefore worth checking the app version before 16 November 2026, so you do not hit a block before a trip or when dealing with an official matter. This also applies to children's phones running mObywatel Junior.
